The Art of Storytelling

You probably carry more stories than you realise.

A film you watched growing up. A story your family used to tell. A song that still takes you somewhere. A character you recognised yourself in. A place, friendship, tradition, memory, or seemingly ordinary moment that somehow stayed with you.

We are surrounded by stories. They shape how we understand ourselves, where we come from, what we believe, and how we see the people around us.

But stories can also do something very simple: they can bring us closer.

The Art of Storytelling is a free, guided evening exploring the stories we carry, and what can happen when we make space to actually share and listen to them.

This is not a workshop about becoming a professional storyteller, giving a great speech, or performing in front of a room.

Instead, we’ll learn by doing.

Through playful storytelling, images, creative prompts, reflection, listening and conversations in small groups, we’ll explore different ways of telling and discovering stories. Some moments will be imaginative and light, others may make you notice or remember something you had not thought about in a while.

And throughout the evening, you’ll get to meet people a little differently than through the usual:

What do you do? Where are you from? How long have you lived here?

Because sometimes, one story tells us more about someone than ten minutes of small talk ever could.

At one of our previous gatherings, a participant said:

“I don’t know what the opposite is of social anxiety, but that is what I’m feeling right now.”

That is the kind of space we want to keep creating: warm, guided, playful, thoughtful, and authentically human.

What you can expect

  • Playful and creative storytelling exercises

  • Visual prompts and moments of reflection

  • Conversations in pairs and small groups

  • Practising listening and curiosity

  • Our Elementales conversation cards

  • Plenty of opportunities to meet new people

  • No pressure to perform or overshare

You do not need to consider yourself creative or good at storytelling.
You do not need to be particularly outgoing.
You do not need to prepare anything.

Coming alone is very welcome. The evening will be carefully guided from beginning to end, with enough structure to make meeting others easier and enough openness for real conversations to emerge.

This evening might especially be for you if you enjoy stories, films, music, culture or learning about other people's lives; if you want to meet new people without the feeling of networking; or if you're simply curious to experience connection in a different way.

The event is completely free, but places are limited to keep the experience small and interactive.

Come curious, and leave a little more connected. Hear a few stories you would otherwise never have heard, meet the people behind them, and perhaps rediscover one of your own.

Free to join • 15–25 participants • In English

This workshop is designed for young adults up to 35.
