Trickster Archive Presents: A Salon for Art that Keeps Us Safe

​What's the responsibility of artists, scholars, & memory-keepers under the surveillance state? When future generations look to the past for guidance through turbulent times, what will they have from us? How do we use the benefits of technology to keep each other close, without feeding everything we have to Big Tech?

​Join a collective of thinkers, scholars, makers, doers, and movement people for a day of workshops and celebration centered on the trickster’s role in making (and keeping!) art, histories, and archives in hard times.

​Program:

​10am: Breakfast, welcome & opening remarks.

​11am: Workshop on photography and printmaking. How do we document movement while keeping our biometrics to ourselves?

​12:30pm: Lunch break & vibes

​2pm: Workshop & roundtable on best practices for personal archives. Once upon a time, people wrote each other letters, and now we have them to understand how they got the wins they did. What are we making today — and how are we keeping it in our own hands?

​3.30pm: Break

​4pm: Workshop & roundtable on keeping organizational archives. Who's responsible for documenting our orgs? How do we make it sustainable? How do we make it a party?

​5.30 onwards: Fête! Expect food, good vibes, and an archival DJ set by @Crates.of.the Ancestors.
