The Blue Oak and Spengler Trails form a lollipop loop with a good amount of elevation and two sections that are both steep and may have loose rocks. No water available. Only about a quarter of the trail is in the shade.

Meet at the Reliez Valley Staging Area of Briones Park. This is NOT the main entrance of the park, where the kiosk is near the horse ranch. There is just a small parking lot and also free street parking in a residential area. NO RESTROOMS at the trailhead or along the trail. Do not leave valuables in your car.
