Life Drawing for Movement and Balance

​How do we approach life drawing as an experience rather than simply a skill? How do we build a practice that encourages openness and connection– with a model, each other, our surroundings and ourselves– and which considers all of our senses, feelings and intuition?

​In this instructed figure drawing session we will draw from a model while considering movement and balance; not just how we capture them visually, but how our own movement and balance affects our drawing and our experiences together. In addition to drawing, there will be group exercises where we will move together, helping us to ground in the space and present moment.

​We welcome all backgrounds and experience levels, but especially beginners and those who are interested in connecting with alternative approaches to drawing.

​The class will be guided by Joe Craig, a visual artist specializing in figurative drawing and painting, and Ifetayo Harvey, a writer, advocate, speaker, model and musician. We will be drawing Ashari, an artist and experienced figure model.

​HOW TO ENTER

​Our studio is located at 21-07 41st Avenue. When you get to the building, please use your phone to scan the Alpha Touch QR code sign on the door and find The Collaboratory in the directory to be buzzed in.

Once inside, you can take the elevator to Floor 2 and find us in Studio #213.

​MASK REMINDER

​The Collaboratory is a *Masks Required* space. 😷 We also run two air filters/purifiers during our gatherings. If you don't arrive with a mask, don't worry—we'll have them available at the door.

​REFUND POLICY

​At this time the QNSC is unable to issue refunds except on a case by case basis. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have purchased a ticket, tickets can be transferred to another person at the buyer's arrangement.
