UK-Turkish Life Sciences Venture Initiative - Investor Assembly

​A private evening for 40 investors, technical experts and founders, hosted by the UK-Turkish Life Sciences Venture Initiative during London Life Sciences Week.

​Investing well in life sciences and deep tech is hard without the right technical people around you. This evening puts investors in the same room as the experts who can help them judge the science, alongside a small, carefully chosen group of founders. There are no pitch slots, and the evening’s one session is a conversation rather than a presentation.

Biological Ageing and Therapeutics: Distinguishing Empirical Evidence from Unverified Claims

​Few areas of life sciences attract as much capital, or as many bold claims, as ageing. Biological age tests, supplements and repurposed drugs are already sold on the promise of slowing it down, while the strength of the evidence behind them varies widely. Professor Mine Orlu, Head of Pharmaceutics Research Department at UCL, and Professor Gülsen Meral, a physician working on epigenetics and longevity, will discuss what the evidence supports today, where the claims run ahead of it, and how an investor can tell the difference. The conversation then opens to questions from the floor.

​Our team will be in the room all evening, making introductions.

​Who you will meet
Investors, including general partners and fund founders; experts in clinical research, health data and life sciences valuation; and deep tech founders from the earliest stage through to later rounds. Guests from public bodies and companies attend in a personal capacity.

​Food and drink
Your ticket includes a welcome glass of prosecco [or a soft drink] and a canapé menu with standard and vegetarian options; please choose one in the registration form. Further drinks can be ordered from the bar and are charged separately.
