The leadership journey from CMO to NED
Despite the growing influence of marketing in business strategy, female senior marketers remain underrepresented in Non-Executive Director roles across the UK. Boardrooms continue to favour more traditional routes (finance, legal, and general management), leaving a significant gap in customer-led, brand-driven expertise at the highest level of decision-making.
To help more women pursue this career path, Liz Hopkins is hosting an exclusive seminar event for our Women in Marketing community.
Tailored for senior female marketers who are curious about, or actively considering, a transition into Non-Executive Director positions our panel (comprised of accomplished women who have successfully made this shift) will offer honest insight, practical advice, and a clearer view of what it really takes to step into a NED role.
Attendees will hear from:
Lucy Sinclair - A former CMO turned Non-Executive Director, Lucy has built a diverse portfolio specialising in mid-market PE-backed businesses, and sits on the boards of Eurostar, Ambassador Cruise Line, Il Lanificio fashion house in Milan, Red Funnel ferries and BHID luxury furniture group.
Célia Pronto - Célia is an award-winning Board Director with 30+ years of Executive Leadership across a range of industries and sectors. She currently serves as a NED at South East Water, Moto Hospitality, Samworth Brothers, Direct Wines and Campden BRI, contributing to governance, commercial oversight and strategic direction across each. She is also the author of LEAD: A guide for Secretly Spiritual Business Leaders.
Tracy Woods - A senior marketing & growth leader with extensive experience operating at executive level across high-growth, consumer and digital brands. Tracy is currently CMO at Lookers Motor Group Limited and has held a series of senior leadership roles, including Interim VP Marketing & GM D2C Business at Marshmallow, VP Global Marketing at Superbet and Chief Marketing Officer at heycar UK.
