Five Years Later: Same Ambition, New Perspectives
Five years ago, one was a student asking the questions. The other was a global FinTech leader sharing her lessons.
Today, one is building her career in New York City, and the other is in Dubai, having added published author to her achievements.
A lot can happen in five years.
Back in 2021, Julie van Ravenswaay Claasen interviewed Amnah Ajmal for Female x Finance. They spoke about ambition, leadership, career risks and what it really takes to succeed.
Now, five years later, we're bringing them back together.
Julie has taken her career across the Atlantic to New York City. Amnah has continued her international leadership journey in Dubai and published her book, The Vested Leader, sharing her perspective on what it means to lead with courage.
But what happened between then and now? What decisions shaped their careers? What didn't go according to plan? And has their definition of success changed?
As we celebrate five years of Female x Finance, we're revisiting their original conversation to talk about everything that happened since.
What we'll dive into:
Five years, two career journeys: From university to NYC, and from global executive to published author.
The decisions that changed everything: Career risks, unexpected opportunities and knowing when to take the leap.
Ambition then vs. now: How their goals, priorities and definitions of success have evolved.
What we'd tell our younger selves: The advice they'd give themselves five years ago.
Meet our speakers:
Amnah Ajmal — Global FinTech leader, former Mastercard executive and author of The Vested Leader.
Juliëtte V. — Female x Finance community member, now building her career in New York City.
Because five years can change your career completely. And sometimes, the most interesting part is everything that happens between the milestones.
Join us for a special online anniversary conversation about ambition, career growth and the power of connecting women across generations and continents.
