Simulation begins: 10:00 a.m.

Lunch will be on your own following the debrief. Free admission to the Reagan Library is included for the rest of the day. Staying afterward is optional, but highly encouraged.
The Experience
Students will step into the Reagan Library’s Situation Room Experience, an immersive leadership simulation built around decision-making under pressure.
You’ll be asked to wrestle with the kinds of challenges leaders rarely get to solve with complete information: competing priorities, limited time, conflicting advice, real consequences, and uncertainty about what happens next.
How do you make a responsible decision when there is no obvious answer? How do you weigh risk, principle, loyalty, and long-term consequences? And how do you lead when you cannot know enough?
The Debrief
Immediately following the simulation, Peter Gillies (TMU ’83) will lead a debrief on what it takes to make decisions when you cannot know enough.
Peter is a retired law enforcement officer and military aviator with more than 30 years of leadership experience. He served as a Lieutenant and Patrol Watch Commander with the Los Angeles Police Department and as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he was a UH-60 Black Hawk Instructor Pilot and decorated Iraq War veteran.
Now retired, Peter serves as Lead Deacon at Santa Clarita Baptist Church, sings in the choir, and enjoys life with his wife, Christine, their two married sons, and two grandchildren.
