Reimagining Emergency Care in Nigeria – An Evening with Folake Owodunni, Emergency Response Africa
Nigeria’s healthcare sector, particularly emergency response, has recently come under heavy scrutiny. Both high-profile and little-known individuals alike have experienced firsthand the gap between medical emergencies and access to appropriate care, and many Nigerians in the diaspora have seen clearly the need to intervene. What role can diasporans play? How can we ensure that individual initiatives which will inevitably result from the current desire to act will translate into systemic, sustained improvements for as many Nigerians as possible? This event offers an answer.
The event will curate an intimate gathering of Nigerians in Waterloo, Ontario to share authentic, on‑the‑ground stories about emergency care gaps, and evidence‑based solutions that save lives, and commit to building a robust network of ambulances and trained community responders in the next 12 months.
