About Event

College to Climate is excited to announce our next monthly meetup! Join us virtually on September 18th from 8-9 pm ET to hear from our guest speaker Emily Upton, Solar and Battery Development Engineer at Clearway Energy! Our monthly meetups are a great place to connect with like-minded students and ask any questions about navigating your career in sustainability/climate.

About Emily

Emily completed her bachelor's degree in climate and space sciences engineering, followed by a master's degree in applied climate engineering from the University of Michigan. Upon graduating, Emily worked at the World Meteorological Organization where she developed methodologies to reduce climate modeling uncertainty and supported outreach programs. Emily went on to join the DTE Energy team as an Associate Engineer, where she was part of several projects contributing to the transition of a major utility from coal-fired generation to renewable-powered generation. Before transitioning into her present role, Emily joined Invenergy as a senior staff engineer, where she directly contributed to the development of 15 solar/solar+storage projects across the western United States. Currently, Emily is a Senior Development Engineer at Clearway Energy, overseeing the developmental engineering responsibilities for 30 renewable energy projects across the United States.
