From Lab to Life: BioWit’s HPV Detection Platform

​The National Laboratory of Biomimetic Solutions for Diagnosis and Therapy (LANSBIODYT-UNAM) and the spin-off BioWit will present the launch of their Human Papillomavirus (HPV) detection service on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Yelizcalli Auditorium, Faculty of Sciences, UNAM. This service uses a simple, quick, and painless self-sampling method and PCR technology to directly detect the virus’s genetic material. Beyond providing an accessible and reliable test, this initiative will also generate real-world validation data for BioWit’s portable diagnostic platform, a Mexican innovation designed to deliver lab-grade results at the point of care. This development is significant because it bridges university research with real public health applications, transforming scientific knowledge into practical, human-centered solutions. The BioWit platform is being expanded to detect multiple conditions — including diabetes, thyroid disorders, viral infections, and cancer — advancing biomedical innovation from Mexico to the world.
