Playing the Game on Our Terms: Female Founders in a Boys' Club
Logistics: trucks, handshakes, and not a lot of women. Helene and Michaela Hellwig built Movitus there anyway.
Join us for the next LMU Startup Spotlight, featuring Helene and Michaela Hellwig, co-founders of Movitus, an LMU spin-off developing software solutions to make logistics more efficient.
As participants in Cohort 7 of the LMU Innovation Incubator, Helene and Michaela took their idea through the incubation program and are now continuing their entrepreneurial journey as founders of their own spin-off.
Playing the Game in a Boys’ Club
The logistics industry has traditionally been a male-dominated space. Building a company in this environment comes with its own set of experiences: from the occasional “Wait, you're the founders?” moment to navigating pitches and business conversations in a boys’ club.
So, what does female entrepreneurship look like in practice when you're building a business in an industry that wasn't necessarily built with you in mind?
Helene and Michaela will share their personal experiences, the challenges they've encountered, and the lessons they've learned along the way. Expect an honest conversation about challenging expectations, finding your own way, and playing the game on your terms.
What to Expect
The event will feature a 45-minute keynote, followed by an open Q&A session. Bring your questions and take the opportunity to engage directly with Helene and Michaela.
