On August 27th at our candlelit seated dinner, we are honored to welcome Sir Daniel S. Peña Sr. as our special guest speaker. Known around the world as "The Trillion Dollar Man," Dan is the Founder and Chairman of Quantum Leap Advantage (QLA), a mentor to entrepreneurs across every continent, and the host of the renowned High-Performance seminars held at his home, Guthrie Castle, in Scotland.

Born in 1945 and raised in East Los Angeles, Dan is the son of a pioneering Mexican American detective and a mother of Spanish and Austrian descent. He served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army before earning his degree in Business Administration and Economics from San Fernando Valley State College (which is now known as California State University, Northridge or CSUN). Beginning his career as a financial analyst on Wall Street, he went on to build Great Western Resources into a Houston-based natural resource company listed on the London Stock Exchange, the foundation of a business life now spanning more than fifty years.

Out of that experience Dan developed QLA, a high-performance methodology built around vision, dream teams, alternative means of finance, execution, and disciplined leadership. Through it he has mentored thousands of men and women from every walk of life, a body of work he credits with creating well over a trillion dollars in equity and enterprise value. His conviction is simple and demanding: that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary results when they are held to a higher standard and refuse to make excuses.

In recent years Dan has turned that same energy toward the service of the Church. Together with his mentee Anthony Barbato, he has launched a pilot program in Los Angeles, California working alongside priests and religious sisters to strengthen Catholic education and, encouraged by its early fruits, is now in conversation with nuns and clergy in Fresno, Scotland, and New York about carrying the initiative further. Dan's witness speaks to a truth at the heart of Fides: that excellence is not the opposite of service, but its instrument.

In addition the Peña Charitable Foundation, which he runs with his wife Sally, Dan has also for years supported the apostolates of religious sisters abroad among them the Capuchin Tertiary Sisters of the Holy Family in Sri Lanka and the Holy Family Home in Makati, Philippines.

At Fides, Dan will share:

  • "Meditation is great. Prayer is great. Contemplation is great. But if you don't take action, all the rest is wasted." - Dan Peña

  • What it means to mentor the next generation and hand down models that work in the 21st century
