About Event

The Ten is HUMG’s flagship speaker series, bringing some of the most influential marketing leaders across industries straight to campus. This event is supported by The COOP.

Marina Larroudé

Marina Larroudé is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of eponymous shoe brand Larroudé. Marina founded Larroudé alongside her husband Ricardo in December 2020. Marina is a fashion industry veteran with almost two decades of experience, having spent over twelve years as Fashion Director at various Condé Nast publications (Style.com, TeenVogue), which was followed by her role as VP, Fashion Director of Barneys New York. Obsessed with fashion from an early age, Marina continues to believe that fashion should bring beauty into people’s lives by being both accessible and joyful.

Under her tenure at Larroudé as Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Marina has overseen the brand’s competitive growth from a team of five to six hundred and fifty employees, operating out of offices in New York, São Paulo, and Sapiranga, Brazil, where Larroudé’s factory is based.

Beyond sheer numbers, Larroudé's reputation is amplified by their illustrious collaborations with icons such as Oscar de la Renta, Barbie, Altuzarra and their footprint in Hollywood, including adornments on dignitaries like Taylor Swift, Salma Hayek, Eva Mendes, and First Lady Jill Biden.

Ricardo Larroudé

Ricardo Larroudé is the co-founder and CEO of the eponymous shoe brand, Larroudé. Born in the Midwest and raised in Brazil, where his family is from, Ricardo developed an early global perspective. Eager to pursue a career in finance, he moved to New York upon graduating. He began in investment banking before transitioning to private equity at Apollo, where he spent the majority of his career evaluating and building businesses across multiple industries.

While Ricardo’s trajectory in finance was well established, it lacked the deeper sense of purpose he sought—one that comes from building something truly meaningful.

Today, Larroudé stands as a testament to disruption in fashion, defined by unparalleled innovation, quality, and speed in the luxury footwear space. Ricardo has combined his innate business acumen, strategic thinking, and operational expertise with Marina’s profound fashion insight, enabling Larroudé to shake up the industry’s status quo in under five years.

Ricardo’s blend of outsider perspective and strategic rigor has ushered in a new era within the fashion sector. His focus on sustainable practices paired with efficient product turnaround challenges traditional “fast fashion” norms while setting a new standard for luxury. Larroudé is also pioneering a “no inventory” model within the luxury space. The brand’s rapid ascent—from a modest team of five to over 650 employees across offices in New York, São Paulo, and Sapiranga (RS)—along with its meteoric rise in consumer recognition, is a testament to this innovative approach.
