💰 How to Raise Your First $1M
Raising your first serious round is about much more than building a pitch deck.
How much should you raise? When are you actually ready? What do investors need to believe before they take the next meeting? And how do you run the fundraising process without losing momentum in the business?
Join us for a practical founder-to-founder session with Karan Murada as we unpack what it takes to move from deciding to raise to having serious investor conversations.
We’ll explore:
How to think about your fundraising ask
When a startup is actually ready to raise
Building a compelling fundraising story
Approaching the right investors
What founders often underestimate during the process
Lessons from Karan’s own fundraising journey
ABOUT KARAN
Karan has spent more than a decade building and working closely with startups across fitness, wellness, consumer brands and community-led businesses.
He co-founded Fitato, a fitness platform that gave users access to gyms and fitness studios through a single membership. During that journey, Fitato raised external capital and later received a $1M term sheet at a valuation of over $4M.
His entrepreneurial journey has since included work on The Life Project, an attempt to rethink community-driven living, and involvement with IndoFolk Wellness, which has worked with wellness brands including Namhya Ayurveda.
Today, Karan continues to work closely with founders through build3, bringing the perspective of someone who has built, raised, struggled, pivoted and started again.
This session is less about fundraising theory and more about the realities of getting your first serious round off the ground.
