somewhere along the way, home stopped being a single place.
for many of us, it became a collection of people, memories, traditions, conversations, and places we continue to carry with us.
sometimes that looks like different cities, cultures, languages, friendships, or simply different chapters of life.
and somewhere along the way, many of us became small museums of the people and places that shaped us.
olive & maple was created as a space to bring some of those stories back into the room.
its roots might sit somewhere between tunis and montreal, between the olive tree and the maple tree, but the conversations belong to anyone curious about places, people, and the lives we build along the way.
for some, olive & maple may feel a little familiar.
like the conversations that start over coffee and somehow last until the chairs are stacked.
the ones that wander.
the ones where one story leads to another.
the ones where a stranger reminds you of someone you know, or where a question stays with you long after you've gone home.
for this launch, we'll gather around a few prompts, a little curiosity, and see where the conversation takes us.
along the way, we'll draw on memories, experiences, and the people and places that have left their mark on us.
some may invite reflection.
some may lead somewhere unexpected.
the rest, we'll leave open.
there's no agenda to follow and no expectation to perform.
just a room full of people, a few threads worth exploring, and whatever unfolds from there.
in a world that often feels fast, curated, and overstimulated, this is simply an invitation to slow down for an evening, pull up a chair, and cross paths with people you might not have met otherwise.
you never quite know where a good conversation might lead.
for some, olive & maple may evoke the space between the médina and the plateau, between departures and arrivals, between one boarding pass and the next, perhaps somewhere between tu202 & tu203 :)
for others, it's simply an opportunity to meet new people, discover new perspectives, and spend an afternoon in good company.
all are welcome.
we'll be keeping this first gathering intentionally small to preserve a conversational atmosphere.
