Float Workshop 1: Introduction to the Process

​In this workshop, Float stewards will present the process for Float’s pilot round! 

​Over the next few months, participants will come together to connect, share existing work, and generate ideas. Through peer-to-peer and expert feedback, these ideas have the opportunity to be strengthened and developed into full Float proposals. The community then will make decisions on which projects receive funding through voting and co-budgeting depending on the proposals maturity. 

​Towards the end of the year, funded projects build out prototypes or launch their initiatives! In the spring of 2026, projects presented back a report to the community, celebrating successes and sharing what was learned. 

​Using results from the Polis conversation we had earlier in the summer and the interest and experience of those in the room, we will then begin working to connect people and ideas in bridging tech and food sovereignty movements. Participants will then be invited to our Hylo group to continue these conversations!
