Battle of the Badges

​This Veterans Day, Palm Beach County's police, fire and tactical agencies can stand together in one place, compete for one trophy, and give up to $10,000 to veterans in our community.

​Agencies will field teams for an afternoon of games built to honor those who served. Families, colleagues and veterans are invited to cheer them on, and every agency leaves with a shared win. Event partners are given a platform to expand community leadership.

• ​Each agency fields a team of 4 for an afternoon of games, food and kid friendly, tactical fun

​TACTICAL CHALLENGES

• ​Teams of 4 compete across five challenges for points, and the highest total takes home The Tactical Cup.

  • ​The Walk Down: Make your entrance! Send 2 to 4 teammates out to your team’s song in a coordinated walk-out. Our judges score style, energy and crowd noise.

  • ​Ruck Relay: A team suicide sprint. One teammate runs at a time, then hands off the weighted vest like a baton.

  • ​Gear-Up Race:

    • ​How fast can you suit up?

      • ​Competitors race into full gear in heats: fire vs. fire, police vs. police, National Guard vs. National Guard.

      • ​Bring your own gear and it will be stored safely on stage.

  • ​Tug-of-War: Single elimination, winner advances, until one team is left standing.

  • ​Rescue Drag: A relay where each teammate drags a weighted rescue dummy for one leg.

  • ​Also on the schedule: a K9 demonstration and awards for Best Walk Down, MVP, and the Spirit Award for the loudest cheer section.

  • ​Not competing? Come cheer for free as a spectator.
