About Event

If your life has been feeling a bit… grey lately, you’re not imagining it.

A lot of us have become weirdly good at surviving. We’re productive. We’re responsible. We keep everything moving. We get things done. We hold it together. And then one day you look up and realise you can’t remember the last time you felt properly light, properly alive or properly you.

That’s where I come in.

I’ve created the Play Day: a live, online experience for adults who want more joy and energy in their lives, without the cringe, without the forced fun and without anyone telling you to “just smile more” as if that make any sense at all.

You don’t need to be extroverted. You don’t need to be creative. You don’t need to be good at anything. You just need to be open to trying something different for a couple of hours.

What we’re doing

This session is inspired by research into the different ways humans play (yes, that includes us adults).

Some people play through making things. Some play through humour. Some play through movement, puzzles, exploration, storytelling, competition, collecting, imagination. Most of us have one or two that feel natural… and others we’ve abandoned along the way because life got serious and nobody told us how to come back.

On the day, we’ll try a few styles of play together. Some will be solo, some will be shared. Some will feel immediately “this is me”. Some might even surprise you. I promise, you’ll never be forced to do anything you don’t want to, but you will be invited to stretch a little, because that’s often where the good stuff is hiding.

There will be laughter. There may be moments of “why is this harder than it should be?” There will be at least one moment where you think, “Oooh, I missed this feeling”

Who it’s for

You’ll probably love this if:

  • you’ve been working hard and living on autopilot

  • you feel tired in a way sleep doesn’t solve

  • you miss your personality (I say that with love)

  • you’ve been telling yourself you’ll have fun “when things calm down”

  • you want your life to feel like more than what’s on your to-do list

If you’re looking for something passive - where you can watch silently with your camera off while doing other things - this won’t be your cup of tea. But if you’re up for being present and trying new things in good company, you’ll have a great time.

What you’ll leave with

You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what actually brings you joy, which kinds of play energise you and how to build more of that into your real adult life (you know, the one with responsibilities, tiredness, and a booked and busy calendar).

You’ll also leave with something else that matters: proof that you can feel different. That you’re not stuck like this. That it’s possible to come back to yourself.

A quick note about it being free

This is a pilot session.

I’m in the middle of creating the full Play Day experience and I want to test parts of it live with real people first. In return for coming, I’m going to ask you to stay for a short reflection at the end so I can learn what landed, what didn’t and what you’d want more of.

You won’t be sent away with a survey link and a prayer. We’ll talk properly, in the room, and I’ll take notes so the next version is shaped by real experience, not guesswork.

About me

I’m Dulcie, the founder of WorkWell.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years working in innovation, leadership and strategy, and I’ve seen too many brilliant people lose their spark to work, pressure and performance.

I’m building WorkWell around a simple idea: you deserve a life that doesn’t cost you your life, and “rest and play” aren’t cute extras; they’re part of how you stay well enough to enjoy the life you’re trying to build.

If that hits, you’re in the right place.
