Feather Frameworks: Birdwatching & Summer Picnic
We're so excited to have you joining us for the Birdwatcher's Field Guide Summer Picnic — it's going to be a really special afternoon.
Here's everything you need to know before you arrive:
📍 WHERE TO FIND US We'll meet at Lake Merritt in Oakland at this exact spot: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CHQUt872DfcxV2ok7
📅 WHEN June 28 · 10:00AM – 1:00PM
Plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can get settled before we kick things off.
🌿 WHAT TO EXPECT The afternoon has a layers to it:
— Tania Cuevas will open with a Kundalini breathwork warmup to help you arrive fully and leave the workday behind
— Patrick Meeker, founder of Feather Frameworks and member of the Golden Gate Bird Alliance, will lead us on a guided birdwatching walk around the lake. After the walk, we will circle up and participate in a few reflection exercises.
— We'll close with a picnic gathering — refreshments and food provided by the Climatebase Cohort 9 Fellows. Feel free to bring a snack, a drink, or your own yummy addition!
🎒 WHAT TO BRING
• A journal and something to write with — there will be a few quiet reflection moments during the walk
• Binoculars if you have them — Patrick will have extras
• Sunscreen and water
• An open, curious mind — that's honestly the most important one
Refreshments and picnic items are provided, so you don't need to stress about food. Just show up ready to slow down, look around, and connect.
🌦️ WEATHER NOTE This event is outdoors and we plan to go rain or shine for light weather. If conditions change significantly, we'll send an update to this email 24 hours in advance — so keep an eye on your inbox.
We can't wait to see you out there.
Warm regards,
Patrick
