East Coast Forum · Barrie School
Barrie has been doing this kind of education since before most of us had a word for it. It was the first Montessori high school in the country, and it's now the first US school to adopt the Global Impact Diploma, with a Montessori-to-project-based throughline running from grade 6 up.
If your version of this work grew out of a philosophy rather than a policy, you'll recognize the building.
The morning belongs to Barrie. You'll sit in on classes and talk with their students, with nobody steering the conversation. The afternoon belongs to you: members run the breakouts, so bring the problem you're stuck on and find the person who has already solved it.
The date is deliberate: this lands the day before NAIS Thrive in Baltimore, an hour up the road.
75 people, 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Member schools get two free tickets, with the code in your invitation email. Everyone else pays $50, so bring a school that belongs in the Consortium.
Questions about the program go to Jason Cummings, cummings@mastery.org.
See you in Silver Spring,
Matt
