Midwest Forum · Portage School of Leaders
Portage is co-hosting the first of our Regional Forums this year, and it's a good place to start.
It's a tuition-free public charter in South Bend that built its Portrait of a Leader around 29 durable skills, with career pathways where students earn industry certifications before they graduate. If you're public or charter and you've been told this model only works at well-funded independent schools, come see otherwise.
The first half of the day belongs to Portage. You'll be in conversation with their students, teachers, and school leaders in the learning spaces where the model actually runs, with nobody steering it.
The afternoon is yours. We break into smaller working sessions on the parts of the mastery journey you care about most, from assessment and credentialing to implementation and faculty adoption. Bring the problem you're stuck on and find the person who has already solved it.
South Bend is 2.5 hours from Aurora Institute's FullScale in Indianapolis on October 8-10, so you can do both in one trip.
75 people, 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Member schools get two free tickets, with the code in your invitation email. Everyone else pays $50, so bring a school that belongs in the Consortium.
Questions about the program go to Jason Cummings, cummings@mastery.org.
See you in South Bend,
Matt
