Centre for Built Environment Data Sharing - Governance Workshop
Following our successful DICC workshop exploring data interoperability in April 2025, we have secured funding from the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) award to UCL 2022-27 to develop a Centre for Built Environment Data Sharing (C-BEDS). C-BEDS acts as an innovation network of networks, enabling open and interoperable knowledge sharing across the built environment value chain.
C-BEDS vision is to bring digital solution providers and information users together to co-create a roadmap that identifies and addresses gaps to interoperability, aligns policy with practice, and builds a sustainable ecosystem for data sharing in the built environment. The Centre will host its first major in person event on 30th January 2026 from 9:30 to 16:00 at IDEALondon. It would be great if you could join us as we aim to accelerate and align activity.
The aims of the workshop are to:
formalise the vision for the C-BEDS innovation network of networks,
formalise a governance framework,
Explore and critique work undertaken by the team in identifying and exploring initiatives already underway, their vision, goals and relationships, and the gaps that limit full implementation of data sharing for the built environment.
Together, these outputs will help develop trust, governance structures, and role clarity, necessary precursors to the development of interoperability.
