About the Speaker

Lily R. Asongfac is a Cameroonian space enthusiast, educator, and international partnerships expert, redefining success through innovation, community empowerment, and space education. As International Account Manager at SpaceVrse, she drives collaborations across the globe, connecting the space industry and inspiring the world through storytelling.

Her technical expertise includes designing a nanosatellite mission for the Gabonese Space Agency while at NMD Ltd. Lily is also the founder of the Aerospace Baby Project, an initiative that brings space education to children through hands-on activities and storytelling. Her outreach spans continents - having taught space to students in Senegal and the United States. As the National Point of Contact for SGAC Cameroon and founder of the Youths for Sustainable Space Development (Y4SSD) community, she actively engages youth in global space initiatives.

Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including the Nebula Award, African Space Leader Award, Space Foundation Teacher Liaison (Flight 24), 2024 Emerging Space Leader Award, and recognition as a TechWomen Fellow by the U.S. Department of State. In 2024, she was named one of the “Women Engineers You Should Know” by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE USA) and awarded Young Person of the Year at the Cameroon Youth Awards.

With a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Telecommunications), Lily continues to challenge conventional paths of success - championing diversity, accessibility, and youth empowerment in Africa’s growing space ecosystem.
