Midlife Strong: Understanding Your Changing Body and Where to Begin

Free community workshop @Neighbor in Chelsea

Movement, nourishment, sleep, and everyday habits for perimenopause and beyond

You want to take better care of yourself during perimenopause, but all the advice about strength, protein, walking, sleep, and bone health can make it difficult to know where to begin.

This free, small-group movement and wellness workshop will help you understand your changing body and focus on a few practical things you can begin doing now.

Who this workshop is for

For women in perimenopause or menopause who want to feel healthier and stronger but aren’t sure where to begin.

It may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel overwhelmed by midlife health advice

  • Don’t know how to prioritize strength, protein, bone health, and everyday movement

  • Feel stiff, tired, or less strong in your changing body

  • Want realistic habits that fit into a busy life

No previous fitness or Pilates experience is needed. Everything can be adapted to your body and current ability.

You’ll learn

👉 How perimenopause can affect energy, sleep, recovery, muscles, and bones
👉 How your feet, breathing, core, and alignment support the way you move
👉 Pilates-based exercises for mobility, stability, balance, and core support
👉 Three doable habits: adding protein to breakfast, walking after meals, and breaking up long periods of sitting
👉 Why consistency, nourishment, sleep, and recovery are part of becoming stronger

This is not a boot camp or an overwhelming list of everything you should be doing. It is an approachable place to understand your body, choose a manageable starting point, and begin taking care of yourself.

What to expect

  • Clear, practical education without information overload

  • Guided Pilates-based movement adapted to your body

  • Simple exercises and wellness habits you can continue at home

  • A supportive, judgment-free space to ask questions

You’ll leave with three practical wellness habits and a simple 10-minute movement routine to support your core, alignment, mobility, and balance.

The Midlife Strong Series

November 8 — Build Strength + Create a Plan That Fits Your Life
Learn the foundations of strength, bone health, balance, protein, and recovery and create a realistic 30-day plan.

Each workshop stands on its own, but the two sessions build on one another:

Understand your body. Build strength. Create a plan you can sustain.

Come to one or join us for both. The workshops are free, but registration is required and space is limited to 10 participants per session.

Before you arrive

Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga or exercise mat. Please arrive 10 minutes early so you have time to settle in.

If your plans change, please cancel your registration so someone else can attend.
