Overview

What if taking care of yourself felt less like a solo task — and more like something we did together? 🌿

The Commons is a free, public wellness gathering At Francisco Park, designed for everyone. No memberships, no price tags, no experience required. Just an open park, good people, and practices that help you feel more like yourself.

This is for the neighbor who's been meaning to try breathwork. The regular who wants to share what they love with their community. The curious newcomer who just needs a soft place to land. Whether you've never rolled out a yoga mat or you teach classes yourself, you belong here.

What to Expect

Think: slow mornings, open air, and a little magic. ✨ Here's how the morning flows:

🤝 Community Connection

We open by gathering together, meeting our neighbors and settling in.

🕯️Intention Setting

A grounding practice to arrive fully and set the tone for your morning.

🧘Yoga & Breathwork

Move your body, open your breath, and shake off whatever you carried in.

🌬️Closing Meditation

We close with stillness. Grounded, present, and restored.

Parking & Transportation
Francisco Park is nestled in Russian Hill — a beautiful spot that's most enjoyable when you're not circling for parking. 🚌 We highly recommend arriving by foot or public transit if you're able.

🚶Walk or take the bus

Our top recommendation — arrive already in the spirit of the morning.

🚗 Street parking

Available in the surrounding neighborhood — allow extra time on weekends.

🅿️Small parking lot

A limited lot is nearby — spots fill quickly, so plan accordingly.

Accessibility & Considerations
We want everyone to feel comfortable and prepared. Here's what to know before you arrive:

ADA accessible

Francisco Park is wheelchair accessible. All are welcome to participate at whatever level feels right for your body.

🔇No loud amplified sound

This is a calm, grounded gathering — no booming speakers or amplified music.

💡No flashing lights

A sensory-friendly environment safe for those with light sensitivities.

About the Future of Us Festival

Launching on America's 250th anniversary, the inaugural Future of Us festival is a 10-day celebration of civic imagination and possibility. We're turning community-sourced, expert-crafted visions of the future into art, storytelling, and participatory experiences. With 100+ events spanning every corner of the city (floral labyrinths, speculative future worlds, dance parties with a purpose, and neighborhood meet-ups), it's a living exploration of what a more creative and generative civic culture could feel like. Organized around four themes (Green Futures, Social Futures, Science & Tech Futures, and Media Futures), Future of Us is breaking down the barriers between art, ideas, and each other, and everyone is invited to co-imagine what comes next.

About the Future Culture Fellows Program

The Future Culture Fellowship is a yearlong program that resources the people best positioned to shape the future of civic life in San Francisco: the community builders, artists, and grassroots visionaries already rooted in neighborhoods and traditions across the Bay. Fellows design and host original, science- and arts-centered experiences that reflect their unique perspectives on what's possible, and become part of a growing Future Culture Collective dedicated to making civic life in SF more vibrant, connected, and imaginative. The event you're signing up for was dreamed up by one of the 2026 Fellows.
