About Event

Tim Bovard, founder and CEO of Search Fund Accelerator, returns to campus to talk about entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA), the path where you buy an existing small business and run it as its CEO.

SFA was the first accelerator built for search funds. It recruits searchers, coaches them through sourcing and diligence, and backs them with a fund of committed capital. By SFA's own count, the program has run 10 cohorts and trained many searchers. Tim founded SFA after a career acquiring and operating businesses, and he has taught entrepreneurship at INSEAD and Columbia Business School.

He'll cover how the search fund model works, how the accelerator path compares with a traditional or self-funded search, and what SFA looks for in the people it backs. If ETA is on your radar for after graduation, come with questions.

The session is open to PE/VC/SF Club (Tepper Ventures), Graduate Entrepreneurship Club, and the wider Tepper graduate community. Hosted with the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship.
