Beyond the Deduction: Turning Your Tax Strategy into an Impact Strategy
The majority of charitable donations occur in the final weeks of the year. And because charitable gifts come with tax benefits, year-end giving often becomes part of a broader financial and tax-planning conversation.
What if your tax strategy could be an impact strategy, too?
If you're having that year-end giving conversation, you may be considering setting up a donor-advised fund (DAF), or already have one. In this webinar, we'll explore how you can build on the philanthropic and tax advantages of a DAF by investing those assets for impact in addition to using them for grantmaking.
Join Alex Hammer Ducas (DAF Commons), Seth Fleisher (Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP)), and Alex Plowden (Regenerative Social Finance), three practitioners with hands-on experience helping donors put their DAF assets to work through impact investing, for a candid, practical conversation about turning a parked charitable account into an active tool for change.
Some of the questions we'll dig into:
What does investing a DAF for impact actually look like?
What have our speakers seen work in practice?
How do philanthropy and impact investing fit into one comprehensive strategy?
What should I look for in a DAF sponsor if impact investing matters to me?
If I'm interested in both grantmaking and impact investing, is a DAFs, a family foundations, or a series of one-off gifts the best fit?
What questions about impact investing should I bring to my financial advisor?
How can families and individuals approach year-end giving with both impact and tax planning in mind?
This virtual session is designed for:
Current DAF holders who want to put their charitable assets to work, not just wait to grant them out
Donors specifically curious about impact investing and how to get started
Families and individuals considering a DAF or family foundation who want to make sure they can invest in impact through that vehicle
Financial advisors who want to better support clients navigating philanthropy, impact investing, and inherited or newly acquired wealth
Anyone seeking to bring more structure and strategy to their philanthropic practice
Whether you're exploring these concepts for the first time or seeking to deepen your knowledge, you'll leave with practical, real-world guidance for putting your capital to work before, during, and after you grant it out.
