Belonging is Power: Workshop on Career, Roles & Systems
Building a life in a new country means learning how to navigate systems that were not necessarily designed with you in mind.
For our third Belonging is Power workshop, we’ll spend an afternoon exploring the practical and personal questions that come with building a career and creating financial independence as a migrant woman in Berlin.
We’ll look at some of the systems that shape our everyday lives — from taxes and financial services to employment and small business opportunities — while also making space to reflect on the bigger questions underneath them: What kind of work do we want? What roles have we inherited, and which ones do we want to redefine? How do we build a life that feels like our own?
About the facilitator
The workshop will be facilitated by Kave Bulambo, who brings her own experience of migration, rebuilding a sense of identity, and navigating what it means to define yourself beyond the label of “migrant”.
Kave Bulambo is a visionary entrepreneur and ecosystem builder working towards building an inclusive society. With a passion for empowering women in leadership, she has dedicated her career to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for underrepresented voices in Tech and in business. Her work spans multiple industries, from tech to non profit to consulting, always with a focus on sustainable growth and inclusive leadership.
In her own words:
“I had to learn and unlearn many practices and, as I reach my 40s, it has become even more imperative that I define for myself: who am I, what do I want, and how do I exist in the society in which I find myself, irrespective of the migrant label?”
This is a space to ask questions, share experiences, learn from one another and leave with a better understanding of the systems around us, and of the possibilities we can create within them.

Cost: Free, but registration is required.
Financial support: We want every woman to be able to participate, regardless of her financial situation. If costs such as transportation, caregiving, lost income or anything else would make it difficult for you to attend, please reach out to us beforehand. We have financial support available and will do our very best to find a way to support you. Your request will be treated with care and confidentiality, always!
Childcare: Children are very welcome. Childcare can also be arranged upon request, so please let us know beforehand if you would like to make use of it.
