About Event

Join Dr. Alfredo Hoyos and Dr. Samuel Salcedo for a practical, evidence-based session on integrating topical carboxytherapy gel (CO2LIFT) into the surgical pathway — from the operating room through home-based recovery.

Most plastic surgeons optimize the procedure itself, then leave recovery largely to time. This session makes the case that the recovery window is an active, modifiable phase — and that topical carboxytherapy belongs in the surgical toolkit.

Dr. Alfredo Hoyos and Dr. Samuel Salcedo walk through the mechanism, the clinical rationale, and the practical protocol for using CO2LIFT as a recovery tool. The science is grounded in the Bohr effect: transdermal CO₂ drives oxygen unloading into tissue, dilates the microcirculation, and supports the conditions for healing — without needles, downtime, or added risk in the post-surgical period.

The discussion covers where the gel fits across body contouring, breast, and facial procedures, how to integrate it from intra-operative application through the home-care course, and what to expect in terms of post-operative bruising, edema, and patient-reported recovery. Dr. Hoyos also shares observations from his ongoing clinical work on post-liposuction recovery.

This session is built for plastic surgeons and surgical teams evaluating carboxytherapy as a standardized part of their recovery protocol.

What you’ll learn:
• The mechanism: how transdermal CO₂ and the Bohr effect support tissue oxygenation and microcirculation
• Where CO2LIFT fits across body, breast, and facial procedures
• A practical protocol from the OR through the post-operative home-care course
• What the current evidence shows on bruising, edema, and recovery time

Speakers
Dr. Alfredo Hoyos — Internationally renowned plastic surgeon based in Bogotá, Colombia, and a pioneer of high-definition body contouring. He is the creator of the Total Definer technique and VASER high-definition (4D) liposculpture, and he lectures and trains surgeons around the world. Dr. Hoyos has integrated CO2LIFT into his surgical and recovery protocols.

Dr. Samuel E. Salcedo — Board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon (American Board of Plastic Surgery) and founder of The Plastics Doc in Corona, California. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his plastic surgery residency at Loma Linda University. Published in peer-reviewed journals and an international speaker, he is a member of the Aesthetic Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
