​Most health professionals I talk to have a big goal somewhere in their head: a fellowship, a master's abroad, a specialty, a seat at an international table. Far fewer have a plan they look at every week. This month we're talking about how to close that gap and become intentional about your goals.

​My guest is Dr. Shaban Juma Shaban, a Clinical Oncologist at Muhimbili National Hospital. After his MD and MMed at MUHAS, he went on to train with ESMO, the ASCO-AIOM Clinical Research Course, the MUHAS-ORCI-UCSF Cancer Research Collaboration and the AFROC and Aga Khan University CITP program, while still carrying a clinical load at the national referral hospital. He co-founded and chairs Cancer Fight Tanzania and serves as Assistant Secretary General of the Tanzania Oncology Society.

​I want to ask him which of those steps were planned and which simply happened, and what being intentional looks like when your duty roster leaves you almost no time for yourself.

​This session is for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists and public health professionals at any stage who have a global goal and want a clearer way to work toward it. Come with your questions; we'll keep time for them.
