About Event

Join us for the next installment of Replit’s AI panel series!

MosaicML’s Chief Scientist, Jonathan Frankle, will be joining Replit’s CEO, Amjad Masad, and VP of AI, Michele Catasta, to discuss the not-so-distant future of LLMs. We’ll cover open-sourcing LLMs like Replit's, MosaicML’s transformer-based language models, and more.

This event will be livestreamed to our Twitter where we welcome you to join the conversation!

About our panelists:

Jonathan Frankle is Chief Scientist at MosaicML, where he leads the company's research team toward the goal of developing more efficient algorithms for training neural networks. In his PhD at MIT, he empirically studied deep learning with Prof. Michael Carbin, specifically the properties of sparse networks that allow them to train effectively (his "Lottery Ticket Hypothesis" - ICLR 2019 Best Paper). In addition to his technical work, he is actively involved in policymaking around challenges related to machine learning. He earned his BSE and MSE in computer science at Princeton and has previously spent time at Google Brain, Facebook AI Research, and Microsoft as an intern and at Georgetown Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law.

Amjad Masad is a Jordanian American entrepreneur and engineer. He is the founder and CEO of Replit, the world's leading online programming environment and community. Before Replit, Amjad worked at Facebook, overseeing the JavaScript infrastructure team and building some of the world's most popular open-source developer tools. Before that, he was a founding engineer at Codecademy, the world's leading online coding school.

Michele Catasta (Facilitator) is the VP of AI at Replit, as well as an investor in ML and AI startups. He was formerly the head of applied research at Google Labs. His expertise is in AI4Code, machine learning, data science, and information retrieval.
