Padel in the City: A Women's Padel Social πποΈ
βThree outdoor courts. The Ferry Building. San Francisco Bay as your backdrop.
βJoin The Fairway Social Club for a women-only padel afternoon at Park Padel in Embarcadero Plaza. Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world right now: think tennis meets squash, played on an enclosed glass court, easier to pick up than tennis but just as addictive. If you've never held a paddle, you're in the majority. That's exactly the point.
βHow the afternoon goes:
βCoaching: a quick intro to padel basics (grip, scoring, and how glass-wall play works) so nobody's lost on court one
βFree play: an open rotation to get comfortable, hit some rallies, and find your footing before things get competitive
βFriendly tournament: a doubles bracket to close things out, where pairs face off and winners advance
βAfter: we regroup at the Ferry Building Marketplace for pastries + coffee, with the Bay right outside
βNo experience, no group, and no partner needed. Groups rotate throughout the afternoon, so you'll get the chance to meet all 17 other women. Capped at 18, so it stays small and social.

βFAQS
βWhat is padel?
Padel is a racquet sport played in doubles on a smaller, enclosed glass court. It's a mix of tennis and squash: the ball can bounce off the walls and stay in play, and the paddles are solid with no strings. It's easier to pick up than tennis, which is why so many beginners love it.
βDo I need to be good at padel?
Not at all. You don't need any experience, and this is a relaxed, social event, not a serious competition.
βIs this okay for complete beginners?
Yes. If you've never held a paddle, you're exactly who this is for. We'll start with a quick intro to the basics so nobody's lost on court one.
βWhat if I've played before?
You're still welcome. Everyone plays in an open rotation, so you'll get to play with a mix of women. The focus is on trying something fun, being active, and meeting people.
βWill there be coaching?
Yes. We'll start with a quick intro covering grip, scoring, and how the glass walls work. Then we'll move into free play.
βDo I have to compete?
The afternoon ends with a friendly doubles bracket, but it's all for fun. No competitive streak required.
βDo I need a partner or a group?
No. There's no partner matching. Groups rotate throughout the afternoon, so you'll play with and meet lots of different women.
βCan I come alone?
Please do. A lot of women come to Fairway Social events solo. The whole point is to make it easier to meet people while trying something new.
βCan I request to play with a friend?
Yes. After registering, send us your friend's name and we'll do our best to place you together.
βWhat should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing you can move in, plus sneakers with good grip. Tennis or court shoes are ideal. Layers and sun protection are a good idea for an outdoor court by the Bay.
βWhat happens if I join the waitlist?
If you join the waitlist, you may see a temporary authorization hold on your card. You will not actually be charged unless a spot opens up and you are moved off the waitlist into the event.
βWhat happens if the weather is bad?
The courts are outdoors, so we'll communicate any weather-related changes directly to registered attendees.
βWhat is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before the event to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable.
βDo I need to be a Fairway Social member?
No. There are no membership fees and no prior Fairway Social events required. Just sign up and show up.
