Special workshop with the Defense Innovation Unit

​DIU is the U.S. Department of War's main point of contact with commercial technology companies. The unit scouts technologies, contracts with companies on accelerated timelines and moves commercial products into military use. Since January 2026, DIU has operated as a permanent Field Activity of the Department of War, which has strengthened its role in the U.S. defence innovation system.

​The workshop is intended for companies that are considering the U.S. market or cooperation with U.S. defence partners. The DIU team will explain how the unit identifies and assesses technologies, what it expects from commercial suppliers and through which mechanisms companies can work with the Department of War. The session will also include time for participants' questions.

​For Ukrainian teams, the workshop offers a practical way to understand how the Department of War engages commercial suppliers and to test their own plans for the U.S. market against these expectations before making commitments.
