Mayfair Athletic Department: Train Your Inner Mind
Mind in Motion: Train Your Inner Mind
Recommendation: Make this a mental fitness + emotional regulation session (athletic but accessible)
Purpose:
Help participants understand that taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Reframe mental health as something you can train, strengthen, and support daily—like a muscle.
Structure/Example:
Grounding exercise: “pre-game ritual” (breathwork + intention setting before entering a space)
Visualization exercise:
Imagine your “best self” showing up - how do they think, move, respond under pressure? Introducing discipline as daily practice in showing up as your highest self.
“Mental reps” exercise:
Identify one recurring thought pattern and practice reframing it in real time
Group prompt:
“What does pressure feel like in your body?”
“What helps you come back to center?”
Create a “Mind Gym Routine”:
2–3 daily practices (breath, movement, thought awareness, reset rituals)
Outcome:
Participants leave with a personalized “mental fitness routine” to help them navigate pressure, performance, and everyday life with more clarity and calm.
