Special Evaluation Workshop with Guest Speaker Declan Shalvey
Join us for a Special Evaluation Workshop with guest speaker Declan Shalvey!
🎯 Evaluations in Toastmasters serve multiple purposes: providing immediate feedback, offering actionable suggestions for improvement, and motivating speakers to reach a higher level of performance.
💡 The best evaluations are practical, easy to understand, and easy to implement.
🗣️ And the benefits go both ways — becoming a better evaluator also helps you become a better speaker.
In this workshop, Declan will share a practical framework for delivering more effective evaluations and help you develop the skills to give feedback that is meaningful, motivating, and actionable.
Whether you're new to evaluations or looking to sharpen your skills, this workshop is for you.
Meet Declan
An engineer by profession, Declan has lived and worked across Europe, the United States, and Asia throughout his career in technology.
Declan joined Toastmasters 12 years ago and has been an active member of up to four clubs. He is currently a member of two clubs.
His Toastmasters leadership experience includes serving as Area Director for Area B4 in 2025–2026 and previously as Area Director for Area B1 in 2019–2020. He was also nominated “Toastmaster of the Year” for 2025–2026 — who knew?!

And finally, Declan is a two-time Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and is currently working toward his third DTM.
