Live Lecture: The Science of Modern Marathon Training with John J. Davis, Ph.D.
The science of marathon performance has completely changed in the last 20 years, but most marathoners still train the same way. This lecture will show you how to incorporate modern, scientifically based training techniques that translate into faster performance.
We’ll cover how to target the physiological roots of marathon performance, how to distribute your training volume and intensity, and how to identify the factors holding you back in the marathon. Q&A, book signing, and informal chat will follow the lecture.

About the coach
John J. Davis is the writer and coach behind RunningWritings and the author of Marathon Excellence for Everyone. He has been coaching runners from novices to elite-field competitors for over 12 years and has a marathon PR of 2:29. John has a Ph.D. in human performance and publishes scientific research on running performance and running injuries.
