​This year, Spotify Audiobook Selects is inviting independent authors to submit short-form stories for audiobook creation and publishing consideration. Open to writers around the world, the first round of this new program focused on three genres—romance, mystery/thriller, and sci-fi/fantasy—and offered authors the chance to reach Spotify’s global audience.

​About Leah Kleynhans

​Leah Kleynhans is the Lead Producer at Spotify Audiobooks. Her career started in paper book sales, then marketing, then operations, and somehow ended up in the wonderful world of audiobooks. Her accolades include several Earphones Awards, an Audiobook of the Year nomination, and getting to say "I make audiobooks for a living!" at every party she's ever attended. Aside from overseeing Spotify's in house audiobook productions, she also heads up Spotify Audiobooks Selects, a new imprint that allows authors to submit their work directly to Spotify for publication consideration. As an indie author herself, she can think of nothing more satisfying than giving opportunities to all the authors and narrators whose incredible work deserves to be heard around the world.

​Scott Curry works in Author Partnerships at Spotify where he supports authors and publishers in reaching new audiences with their audiobooks. With nearly 30 years of strategic brand marketing experience, he’s passionate about creating authentic connections within the independent publishing community. As an author, he enjoys writing first drafts on a Royal typewriter and spinning bedtime stories with his son.
