About the Speakers
Dr. Ray Muzyka transitioned from practicing rural medicine to co-founding the globally renowned video game studio, BioWare. After scaling the company as CEO and later serving as Senior Vice President of Electronic Arts' BioWare division, he retired from the gaming industry in 2012. Today, Ray is the founder of ThresholdImpact, focusing on angel and impact investing in medtech, information technology, and social enterprise. A passionate advocate for emerging entrepreneurs, he serves as the Former/Founding Chair of the Advisory Board for ThresholdImpact Venture Mentoring Service (TIVMS) and continues to actively mentor entrepreneurs in Edmonton through the program. Expanding his impact across Western Canada, he was also appointed to the board of Innovate BC and serves as a mentor and Current/Founding Chair of the Advisory Board for University of British Columbia Okanagan VMS. In addition to serving on multiple private company boards, Ray is an active Mentor Fellow across multiple Creative Destruction Lab streams.
Kristina Milke is a General Partner at Sprout Fund, focused on early-stage Canadian tech companies. A Chartered Accountant (CPA/CA) with a diverse executive background, she previously served SVP and General Manager of Investopedia, where she led operations and guided the company through its 2010 acquisition. Beyond her work as an active investor, Kristina is a passionate advocate for Edmonton’s entrepreneurial community and a champion of financial literacy. Recognized as the 2021 Edmonton Startup Mentor of the Year, she is a founding mentor and former Chair of ThresholdImpact Venture Mentoring Service (TIVMS) and received the inaugural TIVMS DNA Award for her ongoing contributions to the program.
