Mahjong 102 Live: Hands-On Instruction Night
Mahjong 102 Live: Hands-On Instruction Night
Ready to go from “I kind of understand Mahjong” to actually feeling comfortable at the table?
Join us for Mahjong 102 Live, a hands-on instruction night led by Susan Welch and helpers. This is designed for people who already know the basics and want more real practice, more confidence, and more help playing through actual hands.
You’ll learn by doing, not by sitting through another long explanation and pretending your brain didn’t just turn into tile soup.
What This Event Is
Mahjong 102 Live is a guided play night with hands-on instruction at the tables.
You’ll work through real hands, ask questions as they come up, and get support from Susan and her helpers while you play.
The goal is to help you feel more comfortable with:
• Reading the card
• Making decisions during a hand
• Understanding the flow of the game
• Playing with other people
This is the next step after Mahjong 101, whether you came to our first class, attended the virtual session, or already know the basics and want more practice.

Why the Mahjong Card Matters
Your ticket includes the American Mahjong card you’ll use during the event and keep afterward.
If you want to keep playing American Mahjong, you need the current card. This is what players use to build hands, follow patterns, and play the game correctly.
If we start offering open Mahjong play nights after this, this is the card everyone will be playing from.
So you’re not just coming for one night of instruction. You’re leaving with the card you’ll need to continue playing.
Who This Is For
This event is best for people who have already learned the basics of American Mahjong and are ready for the next step.
You do not need to be good at Mahjong.
That is the whole point of coming.
You should have some familiarity with:
• The Mahjong card
• The Charleston
• The basic flow of the game
If you attended Mahjong 101 or our virtual Mahjong 101 class, this is the perfect follow-up.
Why We’re Hosting This
Our first Mahjong class showed us that a lot of people want to learn, but they also want a comfortable place to practice without feeling lost, rushed, or judged.
Mahjong 102 is meant to bridge that gap.
If there is enough interest, our goal is to start offering regular open Mahjong play events where people can keep practicing, meet other local players, and actually build a Mahjong community.
Refund Policy
Refunds are available until 48 hours before the event.
If you need to cancel, please email us at least 48 hours before the event to request a refund.
Refunds cannot be issued within 48 hours of the event because spots, materials, Mahjong cards, and setup are planned in advance.

If you’ve been wanting to feel more confident at the Mahjong table, this is your night.
Bring your questions, bring your “wait, what do I do here?” moments, bring your own drink, and come ready to play.
