CAFOD and Partners Presents - Shared Responsibility, Shared Future: Faith and Climate Leadership in Action
With the UK climate minister, a Minister from the Pacific Islands (TBC) and senior faith leaders followed by an audience Q&A
Faith has the power to bring people together. At a time of growing division and uncertainty, faith communities can build bridges, nurture hope and inspire collective action in response to the climate crisis.
Across the UK and around the world, religious communities are helping people connect climate action with shared values of justice, compassion and responsibility for future generations. In doing so, they can strengthen support for the ambitious action needed to protect people and the planet. Interventions from religious groups including the Lambeth Declaration, Laudato Si and Al-Mizan have had a significant impact on policy and practice.
But while faith communities can, and must, help mobilise society, governments must still lead. Delivering a safer and more just future requires policies and commitments that match the scale and urgency of the challenge.
This panel brings together ministers from the UK and the Pacific Islands (TBC) with senior faith leaders from the UK to explore the role of faith communities in advancing the Action Agenda, uniting communities behind climate action, and encouraging governments to respond with the leadership the moment demands.
Speakers include:
Bishop John Arnold, Bishop of Salford, Environment Lead for the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales
