The Learning Professionals Skills Roadmap: What Should We Learn? And In What Order?
What should a learning professional learn first?
In July we presented our future skills report in front of a room of learning professionals. We debated whether AI tools and automation are a technical skill or a durable skill. AI tools move fast enough that judgment on the output is critical.
We asked 197 learning professionals across six sectors which skills will matter over the next three years. Our report showed that durable skills are critical right now.
So, what is next? Well, our report says nothing about the order of the skills we need as learning professionals. We need you to help us with that.
James Altman will open with the findings that need explaining and put a draft framework on the table, borrowed from judgment and decision research.
Then we sort.
Then you will take the two or three skills closest to your real job, split each one into the parts that repeat and the parts that never quite do. We will use a dichotomy of "learning environment" types to help us.
Come to learn more.
Come to get engage with your future.
