About Event

You made it! And I’m glad you are here.

Perhaps something about a piece of writing from social media pulled you in.

Perhaps you randomly encountered the event looking on Luma and something captured you.

Perhaps we talked in person and you became curious yourself.

Either way, you are reading these lines and wondering what this workshop is about and whether you should come.

Now, while I can’t make the decision for you, what I can do is shortly explain why this was created, and if you feel pulled in, perhaps you decide to join on your own.

The way people reached out to me to “sell me” has been bothering me.

And chances are, if you are here, it has been bothering you too.

From a cold email to a cold DM, to a “here is how we can help,” down to pretending to be my friend for one beat only to then pitch something immediately after.

Not to mention the endless pings, from the “just following up on my previous email” to the “just bumping this up in your inbox.” All of that has been nauseating to me.

The rush to just “jump on a quick call” to the more sophisticated “commented under your post, then DM-ed you.” (Not sure if that’s more sophisticated.)

What has also been bothering me is the remedy gurus teach on approaching people.

“It’s just a numbers game.”

“Grow a thick skin.”

“If you haven’t pissed off someone by noon, you haven’t been marketing hard enough.”

And even though putting more effort into creating opportunities actively isn’t inherently bad, there is just one person who is left out of the equation.

The receiver on the other end.

And it’s you and me and others.

And perhaps for a second you thought, in order to generate more opportunities, that’s exactly what you need to do.

Perhaps that’s where the real aversion is coming from.

Not necessarily from rejection itself, even though it is something you may worry about.

But simply not being able to get around how it’s done, and that you should somehow do the same.

So you don't do it, not as much if not at all.

Now, I don’t think that annoying people is cool.

In fact, it cuts you off from business opportunities fast.

Just imagine how quickly you stop trusting someone, and your guards go up when you receive yet another unwanted noisy message.

In the Art of the Approach workshop, you will learn how to do this differently.

So differently that when you reach out to someone you want, and it can be anyone (you will understand why), the way you arrive will be so distinguishable you won’t get categorized in the pile of noises.

You will also learn how to build a reputation as someone who is welcomed in DMs.

The one who is labelled “refreshing.”

Who elicits excitement in people long before and after any transaction has ever been made.

You will understand the internal posture behind being needy or desperate and turn it into something spacious and invitational.

You will also get to understand how to stay yourself in the face of someone who you admire, a person who you always wanted to perhaps work with, a dream client, where the temptation to embellish or hide is huge.

These are just some of the things you will learn.

So who is this workshop for?

  • You are an entrepreneur or freelancer with empathy who wants to stop relying purely on content and take action to generate opportunities for your own business.

  • You care about the human on the receiving end of a message, even if it’s online.

  • You want to build confidence around reaching out to anyone you’d like and invite freely without feeling pushy or like you have to make it work or else.

  • You want to actually enjoy connecting with brand new people online and being in conversations with them regardless of business outcomes.

There are just some of the things you will learn this Friday when you decide to join us.

The location is at a gorgeous cafe close to Liverpool Street Station.

Black Sheep (Next to Black Sheep Kiosk.)

The investment: £197 with payment options available.

Workshop duration: 3 hours with breaks.
