Insight Loop #3: How do we know what to do in uncertain times? with Alex Menhams
Our guest this time is Alex Menhams, a learning partner and facilitator who for twenty years has worked with charities, communities and global companies. He helps teams build the deeper capabilities that keep them moving through uncertainty and complexity. He also runs a school for improvisational theatre and brings its language and tools into leadership and team development.
Alex brings us a question about the uncertainty gap between a plan and reality. His argument is that this pattern is predictable, which makes it strange that we treat it as something to survive rather than something to practice.
Who is this for? This session is for anyone who leads facilitate or organises. And know what it's like to keep moving forward as the plan falls apart.
What is this? An Insight Loop brings diverse, knowledgable people together to get real clarity on a complex issue in 60 minutes. This is the third of a biweekly series going deeper to understand how to better harness collective intelligence in organisations and across society.
Three loops, rotating each round:
Alex provokes. You talk. AI-assisted synthesis surfaces the themes from what your group actually said.
The themes come back to you. You go deeper.
Your group shapes the output into something you can use.
You leave with a synthesis built from the room and one next step you could take this month.
Who are we? Sorted Collaboration help organisations use the intelligence they already have. We design and facilitate structured participation for strategy, consultation and change.
P.S
This is an interactive session not a webinar.
