About

This lecture is part of the NBS-PRI-ECGI Public Lecture Series, a global joint initiative by Nanyang Business School (NBS), Principles for Responsible Investment and European Corporate Governance Institute to facilitate knowledge exchange between academia, industry, and policymakers in sustainable business.

Tackling grand challenges requires informed policymaking. In this lecture, Professor Renee Adams draws on recent research on governance to examine some of the key assumptions shaping today’s sustainability debate — from the role of boards and women in leadership to the influence of the next generation and the importance of families.

Are directors too focused on shareholders? Will putting women and the next generation in leadership help address sustainability challenges, or should we place greater emphasis on traditional family values?

By exploring what directors themselves think, the lecture highlights the importance of taking an evidence-based approach to good governance. It also argues that educating critical thinkers will be essential to building a better future.

We look forward to welcoming you to this engaging and thought-provoking event.
