Sunset Public Safety Town Hall

​Keeping our neighborhoods safe is a priority, and we know many residents have questions about police staffing, response times, crime prevention, and public safety concerns in our community.

​Supervisor Alan Wong invites you to join us for a Sunset Public Safety Town Hall on Wednesday, October 28, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the United Irish Cultural Center.

​We'll be joined by San Francisco Police Chief Lew, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, and representatives from local public safety agencies to share updates, address neighborhood concerns, and help residents better understand the resources available to them.

​What We'll Discuss

• ​Police Staffing & Response Times: How many officers are serving the Sunset? How are officers deployed, and what is being done to improve staffing and emergency response?

• ​Reporting Crime & Getting Follow-Up: When should you call 911, the non-emergency line, or 311? What happens after you file a report?

• ​Retail Theft & Vehicle Break-Ins: How are police and prosecutors addressing repeat offenses and protecting neighborhood businesses and residents?

• ​Illegal Fireworks: What is being done to address recurring fireworks complaints in our neighborhoods?

• ​Traffic and Pedestrian Safety: How are agencies addressing speeding, reckless driving, and safe e-bike riding, particularly near schools, pedestrians, and along busy neighborhood streets?

​The town hall will include updates from public safety officials, followed by a community Q&A with questions submitted by residents in advance.

​Resource tables will also be available, where you can connect directly with public safety agencies and community organizations, ask questions, and pick up information about crime prevention, victim services, and other neighborhood resources.
