🌏 Learn Filipino for Everyday Life
Would you like to speak Filipino with greater confidence, connect more deeply with family and friends, or strengthen your connection to Filipino culture?
The Alliance Philippines Filipino Language School offers a four-week beginner conversation program for adults who want to develop practical speaking skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Classes focus on everyday spoken Filipino. Through guided conversations, role-playing, listening activities, cultural discussions, and real-life scenarios, students will learn how to communicate in situations they are likely to encounter with family, friends, and community members.
Students will practise how to:
• Introduce themselves and talk about their background
• Greet relatives and join everyday conversations
• Ask and answer common questions
• Talk about family, food, work, interests, and daily routines
• Express basic needs, opinions, and feelings
• Understand commonly used Filipino words and phrases
• Learn more about Filipino culture, values, and traditions
Students will be grouped according to their current speaking ability:
Beginner Conversation 1.0 – for adults with little or no Filipino speaking experience.
Beginner Conversation 2.0 – for adults who can already understand or speak some Filipino and want to improve their confidence, vocabulary, and fluency.
A short, informal language assessment will be conducted during the first class to help place each student in the group that best matches their current ability.
Each class is 90 minutes long, including a 10-minute break.
No previous Filipino language experience is required.
The program is open to Filipino Canadians, partners and spouses of Filipinos, newcomers, heritage learners, and anyone interested in learning the language.

Refund Policy:
We understand that plans can change. While we don’t offer refunds, your registration can be credited toward a future class within 6 months. Please notify us in writing no later than 48 hours before the first class so that we can offer your child’s spot to another family. Credits expire after 6 months.
