​The launch of the Centre of Excellence, established by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with GFTN in Bhubaneswar, marks a significant milestone under the BharatNetra initiative, advancing Odisha’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for FinTech and InsurTech innovation.

​Anchored within the Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub (I-GFTCH), the Centre of Excellence is envisioned as a launchpad for startups. It brings together incubation programmes, co-working infrastructure, mentorship, and venture support within a single, integrated ecosystem. The Centre will support founders from across India, while also enabling international companies to establish a presence in Odisha and leverage its growing pool of industry-ready talent.

​Strategically aligned with the upcoming launch of the Global Capability Center (GCC), this initiative further strengthens Odisha’s position as a gateway to India’s digital economy—driving innovation-led job creation, talent development, and global enterprise engagement.

​The BharatNetra Startup Incubator Programme is a 3-month, hybrid, cohort-based programme designed for pre-seed and early-stage startups in FinTech, InsurTech, and HealthTech (with embedded finance use cases). With in-person engagements hosted in Bhubaneswar at I-GFTCH, the programme supports founders in progressing from MVP to market-ready solutions.

​Over the course of the programme, 25 startups participated in intensive capacity-building engagements led by experienced mentors and industry experts. These sessions spanned key areas including product development, business model refinement, go-to-market strategy, technology architecture, data security and compliance, fundraising readiness, and founder leadership. The programme also enabled one-on-one mentoring, peer learning, and continuous feedback—ensuring startups are well-positioned to address real-world market needs.

​Demo Day marks the culmination of this journey. It offers participating startups a platform to showcase their solutions, share their growth journeys, and present their vision to a curated audience of investors, corporates, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers. The event is designed to catalyse meaningful connections and unlock opportunities for partnerships, pilots, funding, and scale.
