Intro to Archiving as Ritual: Your Soft Yearbook
Intro to Archiving as Ritual: Your Soft Yearbook
Come gather around the table to close out the year together. Bring fragments, photos, and notes, and we’ll begin shaping them into a handmade draft of a creative yearbook.
What has carried you, and what are you ready to release? The aches and uncertainties, the gifts and pleasures, and everything quiet, fun, and ordinary in between. There’s room here for your multiple realities and for the incorporeal.
We’ll open with a welcome and a short grounding practice, then share a few ideas for gathering, selecting, and arranging what you’ve kept, along with simple ways to bind it. The rest of the afternoon is slow, hands-on making a few pages, with warm drinks and light bites passed around. Choose your papers, arrange your pages in whatever order feels good, and bind (no-sew) them when you’re ready. Nothing has to be finished. We’ll close with optional sharing.
You’ll take home a no-sew bound draft of your yearbook with room to keep it growing at your own pace. This afternoon is a first taste of a slower, multi-week course to come next year.
