The World Cup is here — and some games deserve a better setting than a packed sports bar.
This is a small, curated World Cup watch party on my private terrace in Barcelona, yes, the one from the cover image: football on the outdoor TV, a relaxed group, drinks, snacks, predictions before kickoff, and space to actually talk before, during and after the match.
Only 6 guest spots are available for each event.
The idea is simple: enjoy the biggest games of the tournament in a more relaxed setting, meet a few new people, and share the World Cup atmosphere without shouting over a crowded pub.
🏟 Match Focus: Germany vs. Curaçao
Germany’s first World Cup match. For German fans, this is where the tournament truly begins: new format, new expectations, and another chance to finally make a proper World Cup run again.
We’ll watch the opener and see whether Manuel Neuer starts the tournament with control, chaos, or both.
🍻 What to expect
There will be drinks, snacks, casual pre-match predictions, probably a few questionable tactical opinions, and hopefully a good game.
You can come alone, most people probably will. The event is designed to make that easy.

I’m Jakob, 32, from Germany, living in my favorite city Barcelona since 2021. I’m the founder of Grasshopper Air Mobility, a Barcelona-based drone startup.
Originally I’m a Hertha BSC fan from my city Berlin, and now of course I also love watching Barça. I generally love the World Cup because it brings together football, stories, countries, rivalries and people who would otherwise never end up in the same room.
Outside of football, I like chess, entrepreneurship, calisthenics, and small social formats that allow for real conversations rather than anonymous big events.
